​Virtual Education Outdoors 

What is Virtual Education Outdoors?

​The Virtual Education Outdoors Program has been constructed to meet some of the learning objections of the Education Outdoors learning sequence in a varieties of ways whilst the Victorian Government COVID restrictions prevent school camps from being conducted.

Brief Instructions
  1. Navigate your way through the themed pages to find Activities of interest.
  2. Completed activity including the required evidence or reflective task as listed.
  3. Upload your details and evidence using the button below OR on the 'Submissions and Contact' page.
  4. Use Period 5 & 6 of Week 3 to complete as many activities as you wish to obtain a minimum of 5 point (most activities are 1 point) to have inclusion in this weeks activities listed upon your report. You may also complete these asynchronously at any time during the week. Submissions are due by 5pm Sunday 24 October.
  5. You may choose multiple activities from the same theme but you must cover at least 3 themes to have these activities recognised on reports. 
  6. Don't forget the live activities!

Detailed overview:
How will the week run?

During Period 5 and 6 each day of week 3 (Monday October 18 to Friday October 22) students will have no formal classes. During this time they will have the opportunity to engaged with the activities outlined on the connected pages. There will also be LIVE streamed sessions in which students can actively participate and engage with presenters and other students.

Requirements:
Students will be able to have their participation record on their Semester report by submitting evidence via a Microsoft Form.
The details of each submission are unique to the activity and the link to the form can be found on the SUBMISSIONS AND CONTACT page.
To be recognised as completing the Education Outdoors Virtual Activities,  students must submit at least 5 pieces of evidence via the Microsoft Form. PLEASE NOTE: a file size limit of 10MB is possible on the Microsoft form. You may be required to share a Sharepoint/Onedrive link to your file in the comments section if larger.

Each page, or Theme, attached to this website is linked with a range of activities that connect students to the skills and knowledge otherwise learnt whilst on school camps. the themes are:
  •  ​LIVE Activities - from cooking to escape rooms there is something a little different for everyone. Check the Daily live activities tab for the schedule.
  • Cooking - cook up a storm at home with some suggested camp based activities. 
  • Connecting to Nature - a range of activities to get students outdoors and immersing themselves in the natural world. 
  • Physical Wellbeing - activities for those looking to increase their heart rate and work specific physical skills.
  • Indigenous Culture - connection with the ideology and teaching of Australia's First Nation People. 
  • Virtual Parks Tours - A link to many resources exploring the Nature Parks and historic places of the WORLD.
  • (Education Outdoors) Skill Challenges - Tying knots, building shelters, camping out, these are hands on activities.
  • Virtual Escape Room - Versions of Escape rooms... just in the virtual world.
  • Out of this World - link up with some of NASA's Educational Activities whilst exploring what they currently know.
